April 2012 Newsletter w/March 2012 Sales Statistics

Hello and Happy Spring!

As I mentioned last month, we are seeing more and more properties getting multiple offers. It’s just basic economics – the result of demand (i.e. lots of motivated buyers) greater than supply (i.e. low resale inventory).

The good news is that now is a great time to buy and to sell. Whether you are interested in purchasing owner-occupied or investment property, you can take advantage of low mortgage interest rates and property prices. On the other hand, if you have been contemplating putting your home on the market, now is the time to do so since buyer demand is up and inventory is low.

Below you will find March 2012 sales data and current (as of 4/17/12) active listing data for detached single-family homes. Data are sourced from the multiple listing service and the Contra Costa Association of Realtors.

For those of you who would like more complete statistical data and graphs, I have posted links to CCAR’s March 2012 Local Market Updates for both detached single-family homes and condo/townhouses on my blog: http://wp.me/p1Y6ng-2d. If you are interested in more specific neighborhood information, please give me a call. Quarterly market reports for first quarter 2012 should be available soon and should show up in your inboxes sometime within the next few weeks.

My website address is: http://www.florencejones.com/. From my home page you can search for homes, follow Contra Costa County median home prices, review quarterly market reports for Contra Costa County, read posts and link to my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Florence-DeAgostini-Jones/156256497773480; Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/FlorenceJonesRE; and real estate blog: https://florencejonesre.wordpress.com/

If you are ever in the neighborhood, please stop by my office at 51 Moraga Way, Suite 1 in Orinda – just down the street from the Orinda Theater and right next to Peets Coffee.

Warm regards,
Florence
